Children have no fear. I have said it before, kids have so much confidence in themselves and when they come into class for the first time, while they might begin by being shy, it does not take them long to feel completely at home and confident that they can paint as well as anyone.
Ellie Speegle is not yet 6 and she certainly is not shy. She is gregarious and very full of life. That is a good thing for an old guy to be around. And, Ellie took right to her classes, paying close attention to what I showed her and having little patience when I wanted to hold the brush with her so she could get a feel of the stroke. Her most repeated words today were “can I do it by myself now” and she did really well. Let’s have a look:
