Today I met an eager young lady who loves art. It is her favorite class in school and she certainly displayed an aptitude for it in my classroom. Kadee is eleven years of age and demonstrated that age is not a determining factor for who should take youth or adult classes. We were in the classroom for about an hour and thirty minutes and she showed that she can listen and apply what is demonstrated to the canvas. And, she has her own ideas about color and composition which is something that I encourage. Just because I show it one say, that is not to say the student has to use exactly my choice of colors or shape of objects. My job is to show the student the correct technique to get the desired results.. I would certainly think that Kadee would do well in an extended adult session.
